Editorial Independence
OyaSpot makes editorial decisions based on reader value, cultural relevance, accuracy, originality, and timing. Sponsors, advertisers, and partners do not get to secretly control editorial conclusions.
Accuracy
We aim to verify names, dates, claims, links, attributions, and context before publication. For fast-moving internet culture, we distinguish confirmed facts from commentary, interpretation, and public conversation.
Corrections
When we make a material error, we correct it. Readers can send correction requests with the article link, the disputed line, and supporting context to corrections@oyaspot.co.ke.
Sources and Attribution
We credit creators, photographers, writers, platforms, and original reporting where appropriate. Anonymous sourcing is used carefully and only when there is a strong reason to protect a source.
Conflicts of Interest
Writers and editors should disclose relationships, gifts, payments, or personal stakes that could affect coverage. We may decline, reassign, or label work where a conflict is material.
Opinion and Commentary
Opinion pieces reflect the writer's viewpoint. We still expect fairness, factual grounding, and responsible treatment of people and communities.
AI and Assisted Tools
OyaSpot may use digital tools to support research, editing, formatting, transcription, or production. Editorial judgment, fact-checking, and final responsibility remain with the people publishing the work.
Respect and Safety
We avoid unnecessary harm, harassment, doxxing, and exploitative framing. Public-interest coverage may include difficult topics, but we aim to handle them with context and care.
